– Grade 10. – Grade 12 will be an added advantage. – Driver’s licence (code 10). – Must be able to operate various hand, electrical and gas operated tools/equipment. – Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (must be bilingual). – Ability to follow & execute given instructions. – Good physical health, basic skills & know how of doing physical work. – Must be willing to perform overtime and standby duties. – A hard-working, self-disciplined person – Two (02) years’ work experience within water services environment in a local government authority.

DUTIES

-Assisting the artisan with daily tasks assigned by the supervisor: – By doing any physical work with hand tools on water and sewerage excavation sites and pump stations e.g. hands, picks, shovels, brooms, spanners, electrical equipment and various manual labour equipment tools. – Being responsible for loading and off-loading of material and equipment of the section with protected hands and safety tools. – Clean in and around the working area of responsibility with a broom and various manual labour equipment tools to ensure a clean environment. – Do any labour-related work when requested by either the supervisor or the superintendent of the section. – Executing all legal instructions from the supervisor to ensure productivity and smooth running of the water section. – To ensure that all complaints received are resolved to maintain effective service delivery. – Perform any other related ad hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.

SALARY: R 174 012.00 p.a. – R 193 644.00 p.a. (Level 12 of a Grade 04 Local Authority)

Total package inclusive of all benefits: R 312 707.84 p.a
