Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the role will be responsible for administering the process in procurement of goods and service in the CIPC.
Minimum Requirements
An appropriate Degree/Diploma qualification related to Supply Chain Management/Logistics/ Procurement or public finance administration or Accounting/Auditing.
At least three years experience (through audit and/or work experience) in public sector SCM procurement
Data capturing experience
Duties and Responsibilities
- To Perform and administer the procurement of goods and services (Tenders, RFQ’s and Deviations) as per CIPC processes.
- To administer request for Request for quotations (RFQs) and Tenders
- Compile, administer and assist with procurement reporting and tracking (procurement registers)
- To make input into operating policies, procedures and guidelines;
- To receive and respond to supplier and divisional enquiries;
- Liaise with all stakeholders within CIPC and assist them in the procurement of goods and services
- To report on performance and identify and escalate performance constraints and any risks
- Input and compilation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports
- Procurement Support: Collaborate with business units to with regards to procurement of goods and services
- To identify and escalate potential fraud and other risks and suggest mitigating interventions
- To participate in SCM committees as and when required
The above list is not exhaustive. Other cross functional duties and reasonable duties within the SCM function may be required depending on primary workload.
Skills required:
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- Analytical Skills: High proficiency in data analysis, forecasting tools, and Excel.
- Ability to manage complex data sets and procurement registers/records accurately.
- Ability to analyze market trends to make informed procurement decisions
- Working knowledge of public sector procurement regulations, supply chain best practices and supplier databases.
- Experience in vendor relationship management (VRM)
- Attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multi-disciplinary sourcing projects to achieve specific objectives for CIPC.
