Position Overview
The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is seeking a Supervisor: Pensions Administration – Operations to oversee the Operations Unit within the Pensions Administration Section. The successful candidate will ensure the accurate, complete, and timely processing of pension-related transactions while maintaining compliance with retirement fund legislation, internal policies, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Plan, assign, and coordinate daily activities within the Operations Unit.
- Supervise pension administration processes to ensure compliance with retirement fund legislation, regulations, fund rules, and organisational policies.
- Monitor workflow and ensure efficient service delivery within established timelines.
- Review and verify pension calculations, system inputs, and data captured by team members to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including members of the SARB Retirement Fund and service providers.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at various organisational levels regarding pension-related matters.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in pension administration activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and work practices.
Reporting and Administration
- Prepare and submit statutory, regulatory, and internal reports within required deadlines.
- Compile reports for the SARB Retirement Fund Board and its subcommittees, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain proper records and documentation in accordance with governance requirements.
Team Leadership
- Manage employee performance and support staff development.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members.
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the team.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Financial Management or a related field.
Experience
- Two to four years of relevant experience within the financial services industry, specifically in pension administration.
- At least one to two years of supervisory experience.
