The Legal Practice Council (LPC) is embarking on a process to fill vacant positions in the Gauteng
Provincial Office.
Vacancy : Legal Officer: Regulatory
Provincial Office : Gauteng (Pretoria): Ref No: GP16/2025
CTC Salary Package: R 571 000 all-inclusive package p.a
Minimum Appointment Requirements
Matric/Grade 12 Certificate; ▪ Law Degree; ▪ Admission as a Legal Practitioner; ▪2 years post-admission
experience in a legal environment or in a professional regulatory environment, of which 01 year is in
prosecution. Knowledge of Legal Practice Act, No 28 of 2014; ▪ Section 109 Regulations; ▪ Code of
Conduct for all Legal Practitioners & Court Rules.

Key Responsibilities
Assess complaints received on allegations of misconduct; ▪Gather and access all relevant information
and documentation to evaluate the complaint;▪ Identify any additional areas of prima facie
misconduct;▪Form a view on prima facie unprofessional conduct both within and outside the purview of
the complaint;▪ Investigate complaints within the allocated timeframe;▪ Participate in the Committee to
provide recommendations on decision;▪ Record decisions of Committee and provide feedback to
complainant and legal practitioner;▪Handle appeals on papers, if required;▪ Prepare agenda for the
Committee if further roundtable discussions are to be held with all parties, when there insufficient
evidence to prosecute;▪Lead the discussion with the Committee, resulting in a conclusion of the matter
or if the matter needs to be referred to the Disciplinary Committee; ▪Formulate charges in accordance
with applicable legislation; ▪Prosecute the charge and lead witness to give evidence to support the
charge;▪Coordinate appeals and reviews of findings of Committee;▪ Prepare a memorandum from
Investigation Committee to conduct inspections; ▪Conduct follow-ups on inspections that have taken
place;▪Report on investigation findings for further prosecution or dismissal or send to Disciplinary
Hearing or for temporary suspension; ▪Maintain records of decisions made by the Disciplinary
Committee, Court or Council; ▪General Office administration,▪ Advisory support and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Liaise with banks to obtain the bank statements in all curatorship matters; ▪Manage requests for
information and queries allocation of transactions on SAGE; ▪Log any technical issues with the SAGE

matters on a monthly basis ; ▪ Upload copies of all bank statements on MS Teams and Sage X3; ▪ Bank

Vacancy : Finance Clerk
Provincial Office : Gauteng (Pretoria): Ref No: GP20/2025

Minimum Appointment Requirements
Matric/Grade 12 Certificate; ▪ National Diploma Finance (NQF 6), ▪Finance NQF 7 advantageous, ▪2
years financial administration experience. ▪ MS Office (advanced excel), ▪ Financial principles, ▪Financial

Key Responsibilities
Preparation of payment requisitions; ▪ Assist with obtaining quotations for goods and services and

insurance related matters; ▪ Process and reconcile the payables cashbook in relation to the Councillors
payments; ▪Capturing IRP5 Batches for SARS; ▪ Submit mid and annual EMP500; ▪ Issuing IPR5 to
Councillors on request; ▪ Maintain the Sage Payroll database in relations to Councillors, for e.g. ID
numbers, Tax Numbers etc; Preparation and submitting for approval, requisitions for Council Honoraria;
▪Resolve queries related to Honoraria payments;▪ Maintain related policy and guidelines related to
Honoraria payment rates ; ▪ Taking all telephone queries from the clients after the statements or SMS’s
were send; ▪ Make follow up telephonically with clients whose payments are not allocated correctly; ▪
Assisting with ad hoc Finance related requests and queries; ▪ Assist with the processing of cashbook,
AP invoices into Sage 300, from time to time.
