INTRODUCTION

Komatsu is seeking for an experienced Artisan Assistant to join their dynamic team at White River. The preferred candidate should have at least 6 months’ experience in a general workshop/technical environment and a Matric certificate with Technical Subjects. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1. Grade 12 with technical subjects, or NQF Level 4 

2. 6 months general workshop, technical environment experience

3. Basic knowledge of workshop tools

4. Ability to read, write and speak English

5. Valid driver’s license (code 8) is an advantage

6. Other certifications an advantage (forklift, crane, welding) but not required

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

1. Remains up-to-date with SHE procedures

2. Machine/component assembly and disassembly

3. Component/ machine cleaning

4. Basic maintenance and housekeeping

5. Drives Komatsu service vehicle

6. Maintains safe operation of tools and within acceptable/prescribed safety levels

7. Reports defective equipment to artisan
