Internship Opportunities

The Water Research Commission invites suitably qualified and unemployed South African graduates and TVET learners to apply for a 24-month Internship and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme.

This programme provides successful candidates with valuable workplace exposure, practical experience, and an opportunity to develop professional skills within a dynamic working environment.

AVAILABLE INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:

Human Resource Management Intern
Reference Number: WRC/26-01
Requirements: National Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management, Labour Relations, Employee Relations, Industrial Psychology or related field.

Legal & Auxiliary Services Intern
Graduate Reference Number: WRC/26-02
TVET Reference Number: WRC/27-02
Requirements:
Graduate: National Diploma/Degree in Law, Records Management, Information Studies & Archives, Safety Management, Public Management/Administration, Management Assistant or related field.
TVET: N6 Certificate in a relevant field with an official letter from the TVET College confirming the requirement for Work Integrated Learning (WIL).

Office Administration / Executive Support Intern

Requirements: National Diploma/Degree in Management Assistant, Office Administration, Office Management or related field.

Monitoring & Evaluation Intern
Reference Number: WRC/26-04
Requirements: National Diploma/Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Public Management/Administration, Management Assistant or related field.

Information Technology Intern
Reference Number: WRC/26-05
Requirements: National Diploma/Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.

Risk Management Intern

Requirements: National Diploma/Degree in Risk Management, Auditing, Fraud, Compliance or related field.

Finance Intern

Requirements: National Diploma/Degree in Finance, Public Finance, Financial Accounting or related field.

Supply Chain Management Intern

Requirements: National Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics or related field.

Stakeholder Relations & Communications Intern

TVET Reference Number: WRC/26-10
Requirements:
Graduate: National Diploma/Degree in International Relations, Communication, Public Relations or related field.
TVET: N6 Certificate in a relevant field with an official letter from the TVET College confirming the requirement for Work Integrated Learning (WIL).

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be an unemployed South African citizen.
Applicants should be between 18 and 35 years old.
Must not have previously participated in an internship programme.
Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

APPLICATIONS MUST INCLUDE:

Comprehensive CV
Certified copy of South African Identity Document
Certified copies of qualifications and academic transcripts
Proof of residential address
Sworn affidavit confirming that the applicant has not previously participated in an internship programme
TVET applicants must include a certified N6 certificate and official WIL placement letter
Clearly indicate the reference number of the role applied for
