Duties and responsibilities: • Assist with preparations for Community Engagement/ Service-Learning projects.
• Train and supervise students.
• Consult with clients.
• Manage files and keep records.
• Adhere to time management system, diarise and attend to appointments internally and externally.
• Attend court and appear in court cases.
• File and serve court documents.
• Supervise students at courts.
• Prepare research on files and keep record of research.
• Attend meetings with all stakeholders.
• Draft legal documents.
• Draft all court-, contractual- and legal brief documents relating to Law Clinic work.
• Facilitate, coordinate and perform other duly delegated and reasonable instructions by Attorney/ Supervisor.

Inherent requirement: • An LLB from a South African University. 
• Must be a South African citizen.

– Proficient in using MS Office.
– Computer literacy, including word processing, layout, spreadsheet skills.
• Leading: 
– The ability to lead, take charge of situations, and offer opinions and directions to others.
– The ability to be cooperative with others, display a good-natured attitude, and encourage people to work together.
• Building Coalitions:
– The ability to interact with others and establish personal connections with people.
– The ability to make decisions through consultation, collaboration, and working with close supervision.
– Excellent liaising and communication skills,

Recommendations: 
 • A postgraduate qualification or enrolled for it.
• An excellent command of written and spoken English.
• A good command of an additional official South African languages will be a strong recommendation.
• Knowledge of practical legal training and access to justice.

Assumption of duties:  01 August 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Closing date: 18 June 2021.

Salary:
 The salary for this position is R7 000.00 per month (fixed) for the duration of the 2 years’ contract.
