Main purpose of the job:
To create demand in relation to the COVID19 vaccination programme by
encouraging the accessing of services of the mobile/ pop-up clinics and the
facilities within the project districts.

Key performance areas
• Implementing educational, communication and social programmes geared towards education of COVID
19 Vaccination.
• Motivating people to general health and to be vaccinated.
• Creating community awareness and demand for Vaccination
• Facilitate awareness and prevention conversations with people in communities in formal and non-formal
environments
• Work closely with the project team to create demand (through different platforms – community events,
radio shows, outreach programmes etc. ) in different settings, promote health awareness talks and
distribution of various IEC materials to communities to raise Vaccinations
• Encourage and stimulate full participation by people to utilize the mobile clinic services; with special
attention to those who are usually forgotten, marginalized and overlooked (eg. disabled)
• Encourage people to utilize the mobile services for vaccination.
• Identify hot spots where a large number of people are located and not able to access health care
services (or where young people congregate)
• Capturing of the data on Survey 123 in order to plan and to complete accurate information on those
referred for vaccinations
• Submit information on Survey 123 and any paper collection sheets to data capturers.in the area/district
• Report on daily activities done in order to update the monthly stats on the number of people educated
and assist with compiling monthly reports
• Reports on blockages that may arise from the continuum – from identifying at highest risk, demand
creation, referral through to initiation
Required minimum education and training
Grade 12
Relevant professional qualification or certificates in community development and communications serve as an added advantage
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities
• Good communication skills and must be able to speak the local language.
• Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Adaptable, approachable, empathetic and willing to take initiative.
• Engage with gatekeepers, ward councillors, facility managers, parents, caregivers and young people
in schools, community settings, TVETS, colleges and universities, taxi ranks, markets, street and small
business traders, recreation centres, parks, shelters, formal & informal dwellings around the assigned
area/districts) about the importance of vaccinations.
• Must organize and lead community mass events, stakeholder engagements and dialogues.
• The successful incumbent must expect long periods of being on their feet and walking in the
community at times.
• Must be willing to participate in workshops and in the different research projects undertaken by the
company.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
Required minimum work experience
Must have worked as a community mobilizer in a community-based organization or setting for at least 6
months.
