POST: 7x COMMUNITY EDUCATOR ENGAGER

DISTRICT: UMGUNGUNDLoVU

DURATION : CONTRACT

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12

A recognized qualification in Social Sciences, Community Development, or Health Sciences, with registration from an appropriate professional body, or over five years of experience in community health settings.

An HIV Testing and Counselling Certificate, with comprehensive knowledge of HIV and TB prevention, treatment, care, and support programs.

Familiarity with Department of Health (DoH) guidelines and interventions on HIV prevention and management. At least one year of experience in community engagement and coordination, with in-depth knowledge of the local population, community resources, socio-economic challenges, and social agencies. Demonstrable compassion, emotional maturity, perceptiveness, tact, integrity, and tolerance.

The ability to communicate effectively and establish rapport with individuals and groups to convey information appealingly.

Basic administrative skills, including proficiency in office software and virtual meeting platforms. Thorough attention to detail.

Oral and written fluency in isiZulu and English.

A valid driver’s license.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Perform community mapping to identify influential stakeholders, available resources, and locales with low vaccination coverage.

Strategize and facilitate community entry processes to ensure receptive environments for vaccination campaigns.

Lead community dialogues to understand vaccine hesitancy, promote vaccination benefits, and dispel myths.

Organize and execute vaccine rallies and events, creating visible support and momentum for the vaccination drive.

Plan and execute vaccination events and rallies by liaising with Department of Health (DoH) clinics, community structures, internal project teams, and other NGOs and community-based organizations within the supported districts.

Develop and maintain relationships with local leaders and organizations to support and advocate for vaccination efforts.

Conducted and supported research studies relevant to public health and vaccination.

Document and share inspiring vaccination stories to encourage community members. Address challenges to vaccination, offering reliable information and practical solutions. Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of outreach strategies and vaccination uptake.
