Through its wider network of research institutes and experimental farms, the ARC provides a strong scientific base and a broadly distributed technology transfer capacity to the entire agricultural industry in South Africa. ____________________________________________________________________________________ The ARC-Campus for Fruit, Vine and Wine (ARC-Infruitec-Nietvoorbij) seeks to appoint a highly skilled, experienced and dynamic person to the following position in Stellenbosch:


Key Performance Areas:

ο‚· Assist winemaker with production of experimental wines with a research focus (primary focus).

ο‚· Assist winemaker with production of commercial wines (secondary focus).

ο‚· Assist with bottling of wines.

ο‚· Assist with administrative duties (SARS excise documents, stock taking, stock record keeping, SAWIS documents 5, 6, 7).

ο‚· Procurement of products according to company policy.

ο‚· Be involved in marketing and technical technology transfer, e.g. exhibitions, manuals, training courses, field and open days.


ο‚· Minimum of National 3 years Diploma/B.Agric./B.Sc.Agric(Oenology and Viticulture).

ο‚· A strong understanding of different wine production, chemical measurement techniques and methods.

ο‚· Precise attention to detail with a superb ability for accuracy.

ο‚· Computer proficiency and the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

ο‚· Ability to work independently and within a team.

ο‚· Effective verbal and written communication skills, including ability to prepare reports.

ο‚· General experience within research environment.

ο‚· A valid driver’s license with code B.
