Requirements :

Grade10 or equivalent /Grade 12 or equivalent. Knowledge of: clerical duties, as well as the ability to capture data, operate a computer (Microsoft Office package), Mortuary policies, Planning and organising reporting procedures. How to do basic research/ gather information. Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations and relevant prescripts, Skills Development Act, Basic Condition of Employment Acts, Policies and procedures, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Employment Equity Act, Batho Pele Principles, Constitution of South Africa. Skills: Mathematical skills, Organising, Ability to perform routine tasks, Basic interpersonal relationship, Communication, Presentation, People Management, Records Management Skills, Problem solving Maintaining discipline, Formulation and editing, Client orientation, Ability to work under pressure The following will be an added advantage: Grade 12 or equivalent with 2 to 5 yearsā€™ experience. 3-year tertiary qualification recognise by SAQA in Logistic Management or Public Administration and Valid driverā€™s license.

Duties :

Ensure that mortuary-cleaning chemicals are always available. Ensure that the doctors, i.e., B-1 1663, D28, anaesthetic and medical post-mortem forms, correctly complete all documents for the deceased. Tracing of families for unknown/ unclaimed bodies by sending information to the newspapers and personal visits where address is available. Ordering of stock. i.e., Mask, gloves, disinfectant. Reporting of faulty fridges to DID and monitor temperature. Conduct pauperā€™s burial. Completion of RLS01 and RLS01 for procurement. Communicate with Forensic when a need arises. Communicate with the wards in preparation of schedule B. Checking of the death register daily. Daily communication with staff essential: verbal, telephonic. Etc. Assist families and undertakers as required. Take action and respond to complaints from Quality. Report to supervisor, writing of monthly reports. Day to day checking on the communication book. Monitoring and registering of bodies in the TPH205.

The new Z83 must be fully completed (please refer on the left side of Z83 special notes for clarity), it must be initialed and signed. On the Z83 the Department where position was advertised it should state Department of Health. According to Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) Circular 19 of 2022, applicants are not required to submit copies of qualifications and other relevant documents on application but must submit a fully completed Z83 and a detailed Curriculum Vitae. The Curriculum Vitae should be recently updated that specifies the following: All experience should be in a chronological order indicating the position, institution and respective dates indicating the starting and ending period (DD/MM/YYYY). The information on the new Z83 must be in sync with the Curriculum Vitae. Only shortlisted candidates will be required/requested to submit certified copies of qualifications and other relevant documents on or before the interview. Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) ā€“Verification (Reference checks- Provide at least 3 and must be contactable, the Department shall reserve the right to conduct verification beyond names provided, where necessary. Failure to submit all the relevant information preceding the statement above will result in disqualifying the candidate. Identity verification, qualifications verification, criminal record checks, credit/financial stability checks and employment verification. Candidates in possession of a foreign qualification must furnish the Department with an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) (Only when shortlisted).
