When submitting applications via email, applicants must clearly indicate the correct job title and reference number in the subject line and use the designated email address for the advertised post. Failure to comply with these instructions will result in disqualification.

Applications must be submitted using the updated Z83 form, available from any Public Service Department or through the government website. Applications submitted on the old Z83 form will not be considered.

Each advertised post requires a separate, fully completed, initialled, and signed Z83 form. Applicants must complete Sections A, B, C, and D in full. For Sections E, F, and G, applicants may indicate “Refer to CV” where space is insufficient. However, the question relating to conditions that may prevent re-appointment in Section F must be answered, and the declaration must be signed.

Only a completed and signed Z83 form together with an updated comprehensive CV is required at the application stage. Certified copies of qualifications and supporting documents will only be requested from shortlisted candidates before interviews.

Applicants with foreign qualifications must provide a SAQA evaluation report if shortlisted. Applications submitted by fax, received after the closing date, or failing to meet the stated requirements will not be considered.

Shortlisted candidates, including Senior Management Service (SMS) applicants, will be required to complete:

  • A practical assessment to evaluate technical and generic competencies.
  • An integrity assessment focusing on ethical conduct.

Successful candidates will undergo personnel suitability checks, including criminal record, citizenship, credit record, qualification, and employment verification.

By applying, candidates consent to the collection, processing, and storage of their personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Information will be used solely for recruitment purposes unless otherwise required by law.
