About the Role
The National Radioactive Waste Disposal Institute (NRWDI) is seeking a qualified and experienced Asset & Liabilities Management Officer to join its Finance Services Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management, control, safeguarding, and reporting of the organisation’s assets and liabilities. The role aims to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and policies while supporting financial accuracy, operational effectiveness, and audit preparedness.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Supply Chain Management
- Asset Management
- Or a related discipline
Experience
- A minimum of three to five years’ experience in asset management.
- Experience within a public sector institution or state-owned entity will be considered advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management
- Ensure all organisational assets are appropriately insured and that insurance claims for damaged assets are processed promptly.
- Maintain a comprehensive asset register by accurately recording and barcoding all assets.
- Conduct physical asset verification exercises and compile verification reports.
- Review and monitor all asset entries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Allocate assets in accordance with approved asset management policies and procedures.
- Update asset records to reflect current physical locations and custodians.
- Coordinate the acquisition, tagging, allocation, transfer, and disposal of assets.
- Monitor asset movement and ensure all transactions are properly authorised.
- Conduct regular asset counts and verification exercises.
- Maintain asset management systems and databases, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
Liabilities Management
- Perform continuous reviews and assessments of organisational liabilities.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations and supporting schedules for liabilities recorded in the accounting system.
- Maintain accurate records of leases, loans, and borrowings.
- Manage the organisation’s insurance portfolio, including claims administration and liaison with insurance service providers.
