Important Application Requirements

Applicants must submit:

  • A fully completed and signed New Z83 Application Form.
  • A recent and detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) outlining all previous employment, positions held, and dates of service.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to present certified copies of their qualifications and identity documents on the day of the interview. Candidates with foreign qualifications must obtain a SAQA evaluation certificate.

Recruitment and Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete:

  • A practical competency assessment.
  • An Integrity (Ethical Conduct) Assessment.

These assessments will form part of the overall interview evaluation process.

Recommended candidates may also undergo:

  • Psychometric assessments.
  • Generic managerial competency assessments.

Applicants for Senior Management Service (SMS) positions must complete the compulsory Nyukela SMS Pre-Entry Programme offered by the National School of Government before appointment.

Successful candidates will be required to:

  • Sign an employment contract and performance agreement.
  • Disclose all registrable financial interests.
  • Sign an oath of secrecy.
  • Undergo security vetting, qualification verification, citizenship verification, employment verification, and reference checks.

Administrative Assistant

Salary: R280 278 per annum (Salary Level 6, all-inclusive package)

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • An NQF Level 6 qualification in one of the following fields:
    • Public Management
    • Public Administration
    • Financial Management
    • Business Management
    • Management
    • Management Assistant

No prior work experience is required.

Required Knowledge and Competencies

Successful candidates should demonstrate:

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with people.
  • Assertiveness and a sense of urgency.
  • Professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Customer service orientation and commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Understanding of customer needs and service delivery standards.
  • Experience or knowledge of filing and document-tracking systems.
  • Good interpersonal and client-service skills.
  • A general understanding of operations within the Director-General’s Office.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining filing systems and records within the office.
  • Providing general administrative support services.
  • Managing document-tracking systems and databases.
  • Assisting with payments, claims, and procurement of consumable items.
  • Coordinating photocopier maintenance and related administrative functions.
