Application Instructions

Applicants must submit a fully completed Z83 Application Form together with a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV) in PDF format not exceeding 10 MB, either via email or hand delivery. The Department will not accept responsibility for technical or server-related delays, and applications received after the closing date will not be considered.

Candidates shortlisted for interviews will be required to provide certified copies of supporting documents, including identity documents, qualifications, service certificates (where applicable), and SAQA evaluation certificates for foreign qualifications. Failure to submit these documents when requested will lead to disqualification.

For Senior Management Service (SMS) positions, applicants must successfully complete the Nyukela Pre-Entry Programme offered by the National School of Government and submit proof of completion before appointment. Shortlisted SMS candidates will undergo practical, integrity, technical, psychometric, and interview assessments as part of the selection process.

The Department warns that fraudulent qualifications will be reported to the South African Police Service (SAPS), and criminal charges may be instituted.

Location: Mowbray, Western Cape

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • A Grade 10 Certificate (NQF Level 3) or an equivalent qualification.

Required Competencies

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Organisational ability
  • Ability to use hand tools and electrical tools
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Assist with the maintenance of facilities, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Ensure that team vehicles and caravans are kept in good working condition.
  • Maintain and care for storage tents and equipment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and safekeeping of tools and equipment.
  • Assist with relocating camps when required.
  • Repair, clean, and service equipment according to prescribed standards.
  • Ensure proper storage and upkeep of tools and implements.
  • Report mechanical faults promptly to prevent further damage.
  • Assist with the issuing and receiving of fuel and oil supplies.
