Job Purpose
To assist the team leader in the execution of water and
sanitation services, including clearing sewer blockages
Application
Requirements:
Ability to perform duties
Basic literacy
Relevant experience in the general maintenance of a water and
sanitation network will be an added advantage
Physical fitness and health with no back problems
Must undergo a criminal record check and such a person shall
allow their fingerprints to be taken by the Tshwane Metro Police
Department at own cost
Willingness and ability to work shifts, standby and overtime

Primary Fuctions : Clear sewer blockages and repair water pipe leaks
Excavate and backfill trenches by making use of shovels, pick
axes, rakes and rammers to repair sewer network pipes
Load and unload equipment, materials and tools from the plumber’s
truck
Man and operate water pumping equipment
Assist the supervisor with the aligning and fitting of water pipe
sections while doing repairs
Hand tools and equipment to supervisor
Clean workplace after completion of job
Clean and load tools
Adhere to the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety
Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993)
Clean the depot
Wash the plumber’s truck
