Unisa Registration date for academic year 2025 Published

It is almost time to register for the 2025 academic year at Unisa. If you follow all our processes and procedures, your registration should be quick and simple.

To assist you with the registration process, we provide you with the following:

How to register

Unisa’s registration period opens on 8 January 2025 for all undergraduate degrees, diplomas and higher certificates, as well as honours degrees, postgraduate certificates, postgraduate diplomas, master’s and doctoral degrees. The closing date for semester 1 registrations is 21 February 2025 (this includes registrations for CTA and MCompt). Please visit the Unisa website ( www.unisa.ac.za/register ) for the closing dates pertaining to all categories of study.

Re-admission in 2025

Unisa’s social mandate is to create the opportunity for as many students as possible to shape their futures through distance learning. Our new admission and re-admission policy was designed to ensure that as many students as possible have the opportunity to succeed in the higher education environment.

In practical terms, this means that you will need to complete a certain number of credits each academic year/over two consecutive semesters to complete your qualification within a certain set period of time. It is very important that you familiarise yourself with these requirements. The re-admission rules can be viewed at: www.unisa.ac.za/readmission2013.
