Role Summary
The Mechanical Artisan is responsible for all mechanical related systems
of the facility including maintenance of air conditioning systems and the
repair, maintenance and installation of mechanical machinery and

effectiveness, reporting of plant and equipment functionality and monitor
quality control of contractors.

Inherent Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric is essential
N5 in Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical / Refrigeration Trade Test at NQF Level 4
Served a recognised apprenticeship programme
3 – 5 years’ experience in working on air-conditioning, air
compressors, autoclaves and medical gas systems.
Computer Literacy is advantageous
The ability to work well under pressure and to maintain
effectiveness during changing conditions
Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
regulations relating to machinery and building regulations.
