| Introduction…Midvaal Municipality invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the advertised vacancy.Minimum Requirements…Relevant Tertiary Qualification or equivalent (i.e. Environmental Management)Valid driver’s license (code 08)Computer Literate (MSWord, Excel & PowerPoint)Excellent communication (verbal & written) skillsCompetent in interpretation, implementation and enforcement of relevant legislation and applicable policiesTwo (2) years local authority experience pertaining to Environmental Management Job Specification…Coordinate and implementation of pollution control strategies, promote sustainability development and conservation of natural resources.Ensure compliance of principles of sustainability developmentCoordinate Councils comments on EIA processes and reportsCoordinate and conduct environmental education, awareness and clean up campaignsCoordinate compliance, monitoring and enforcement activitiesConduct internal audits and compile audit reports that document the findingsLogistical management of assetsManage and maintain specific administrative and reporting requirements associated with the key performance and result indicatorsEnsure all Environmental complaints and incidents are attended and investigated timelyEnsure compliance to all environmental management legislationsDevelop and implement policies and procedures in accordance with legislation, monitor implementation thereof and take corrective actionsEngagement with other stakeholders (including National, Provincial, District and other local authorities) on all environmental and waste management issuesConduct environmental management compliance inspection and auditing on all industries within Midvaal jurisdictionCoordinate and control the implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting sequences of outcomes associated with plans and programmes designed to accomplish key service delivery objectives with respect to the environmental management in order to ensure the provision of a clean and healthy environment conducive to and supporting a better quality of life in MidvaalScrutiny, check and recommends payment certificates of contractors and consultantsCoordinate and implementation of recycling projects and initiatives Perform any other related ad hoc duties as required by management, from time to time.
