Main purpose of the job
The incumbents will provide HIV testing services (HTS) to clients at public health service entry points. Ensure that all clients that undertake HIV CoUnseling and Testing (HCT) are psychologically prepared. Provide psychological support in preparation for the receipt of results and edUcation on HIV and health related issues. ldentify vulnerable groups with linkage to HCT. Follow up of sputum/blood results and linkage to care and Community outreach.
Key performance areas :
Provide pre and post HIV test counselling and testing to clients. Conduct health education and literacy sessions to all clients on HIV & AIDS and related issues.
ldentify vulnerable groups and provide linkage to testing and adherence counselling.
A ssist with viral load monitoring and provide adherence counselling for treatment failure.
Form and conduct support groups for Adolescent patients. Follow up on PCR results and linkage to care.
A ssist with community outreach Programmes (HCT). Quality data management. Compile monthly reports.
Required minimum education and training :
o Grade 12/Matric
o Valid HIV/AIDS counselling certificate
Minimum work experience
o 1 year relevant working experience as a HIV Counsellor and tester in a health related HIV/ARV environment.
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities :
o Must be proficient in English and relevant local langUage/s spoken in the district.
o Must practice confidentiality and tact and be able to deal with sensitive information. Good communication and organizational skills.
o Ability to maintain effective relationships in a multidisciplinary team. Driver’s license.
o Ability to travel.
o Must reside in Buffalo City Metropolitan.

MatCH is looking for a suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions under a project aimed at Achieving and Sustaining HIV/TB Epidemic Control in the Eastern Cape Province – Integrated Service Delivery Response.
