Description

Born out of a movement to draft the first national strategic plan for AIDS, NACOSA has played an important role in mobilising an effective, multi-sectoral response to HIV, AIDS and TB – South Africa’s main public health challenges. NACOSA is now a leading community service organisation, working collectively to build strong, equal and healthy communities free from the burden of HIV, AIDS, TB and GBV. We do this by strengthening community systemsmobilising and managing resources, facilitating networking and collaborationsproviding and enabling access to services and advocating, learning and sharing collectively.

NACOSA works at all levels – from international agencies, the corporate sector, research institutions and government, right though to local services and small, community groups.

The key performance areas of the HR Generalist:

  • Take full ownership of end-to-end bulk recruitment and selection activities (designing and placing adverts, interviews, facilitating assessment, conducting checks, etc.)
  • Prepare paperwork, schedule, and facilitate the onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience.
  • Compile supporting documents and ensure completion of new employees’ folder, and ensure information is submitted to payroll on time.
  • Provide guidance and training to management in general day-to-day issues relating to Human Resources
  • Assistance with Skills Development activities such as scheduling workshops, obtaining information for participation in bursaries, etc.
  • Administer and support performance management activities
  • Support employee relations activities, such as drafting and issuing written warnings, facilitating poor work performance discussions
  • Assist with ad-hoc day-to-day general administrative work in the Human Resource Department.
  • Guide and support general monthly time and attendance administration.
  • Handle all exit interviews and gather all exit compensation documents and submit timeously to payroll.
  • Support creating a healthy and supportive culture among management and staff that adhere to the NACOSA values
  • Uphold and exemplify NACOSA, its vision, mission, values, and objectives, etc.

Requirements

  • A completed relevant post matric qualification in Human Resource Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ sound HR Generalist experience
  • Sound bulk recruitment experience
  • Sound experience in employee relations
  • Working understanding of Labour Law practices & Acts
  • Intermediate computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Working understanding of applicant tracking systems and recruitment job portals.
  • A valid driver’s license and own vehicle (travelling from time to time is a requirement of this position)
