iThemba LABS seeks to a appoint a Housekeeper to assist with cleaning of general premises as well as controlled radiological areas.
This role within the TAMS department, entails cleaning and maintaining a hygienic environment of general premises such as offices, corridors, laboratories and radiological controlled areas. To make tea/coffee as required and report all identifiable damages/unsafe equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning of offices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways and other work areas to meet health and safety standards

Cleaning of carpets, upholstered furniture using vacuum cleaners and/or shampoos

Washing dishes, cleaning kitchens and emptying office wastebaskets

Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and/or polishing floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines

Dusting and polishing furniture and equipment and keeping storage areas clean and tidy

Observing precautions required to company property and report damage, theft and found articles to supervisor

Serving food and beverages as directed and any other general housekeeping duties

Optimal use and handling of cleaning equipment and cleaning materials

Key Requirements:
Qualification:

Grade 11
Experience:

Experience in safe use of industrial cleaning materials and equipment

Minimum 2 years general housekeeping/cleaning services experience in an industrial/commercial setting

Proficiency in English and one other official language

Knowledge:

Customer service orientated

Dependable and hard working

Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision

A dedicated team-player

Trustworthy and integrity

Good communication skills and familiar with good housekeeping practices

Safety orientated e.g. safe handling of cleaning equipment and materials
Additional Notes:
The incumbent must be medically fit and able to meet the requirements for registration as a radiation worker.
