VACANCY: FINANCE OFFICER: BUDGETING AND REPORTING OFFICER

TOTAL REMUNERATION PACKAGE: R508 070 – C3 per annum (All-inclusive except Medical Aid)
iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority, a renowned World Heritage Park where conservation,
sustainable tourism and benefit sharing prevails, is looking for an experienced Budgeting and
Reporting Officer within the Finance unit.
Purpose of the Job: This role is crucial for maintaining financial transparency, managing the
organization’s financial resources, developing budgets, and providing accurate and timely
financial and non-financial reports. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Budgeting &
Reporting Officer will collaborate with various departments, conduct financial analyses, and is
responsible for optimizing and maintaining the budget and control cycle within iSimangaliso to
achieve iSimangaliso’ s strategic objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
National Diploma in finance or accounting or business economics
or equivalent; Grade 12 certificate, Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience; strong
knowledge and understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and budget
management; proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel and valid driver’s license.
Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; effective communication and
interpersonal skills; attention to detail and ability to work independently and accurately;
positive customer-centric attitude; good oral and written command of English.
Key Performance Areas:
Develop, implement, and oversee the organization’s budgeting
process in collaboration with the strategic management team and department heads; monitor
and analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement;
generate comprehensive financial reports on a regular basis, providing insights and
recommendations to management; work closely with the strategic management team and
department heads to understand their financial needs and assist in budget planning; ensure
compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures; participate in strategic
planning by providing financial forecasts and analysis based on current trends and industry
benchmarks; conduct cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects or initiatives; evaluate and
improve budgeting and reporting processes for increased efficiency and accuracy; collaborate
with internal and external stakeholders on financial matters and provide training and support
to department heads on budget-related matters. Prepare and submit VAT returns to SARS on
monthly basis and liaise with SARS on VAT related matters. Prepare grant register, ensure
management and administration fees are accurately calculated and grants reconciliation are
performed.
