Job Advert Summary
The Electrician is responsible for ensuring adherance to maintenance systems and policies. The candidate is required to have vast experience on Electrical network systems (MV and LV). The successful candidate will be required to work overtime in compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics & Science
Relevant trade certificate (Electrician qualified) with Red seal.
Valid driver’s license
3 – 5 years relevant Artisan experience in a Heavy engineering Industrial And/or manufacturing environment
Electrical field: Fault finding on Electrical reticulation systems.
Basic instrumentation and reading of electrical drawings.
3 years in heavy industry
Medium Voltage operations (MV Certificate)
Transformers, AC Motors, DC Motors,
AC and DC Drives (Basics), Precipitators
Maintenance and fault finding
Safety devices and safety systems.
Specific equipment experience would be advantages: Conveyor belts, Screw Conveyors, Pneumatic & Hydraulics, Elevators, Scraper Chains, Rotary Kilns, Gearboxes, Gyratory & Hydrocone Crushers, Vertical Roller and Ball Mills., Reclaimers, Packer, Unitisers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Adhere to maintenance systems and policies.
Prompt reaction time to breakdowns and requests
Time management to complete each task in the optimum time.
Proper job and spare part planning.
Accurate admin of related issues (timekeeping, history feedback, repair text, job cards)
Adherence to systems and authority levels
Legitimacy within area of responsibility (MHSA; BCEA)
Perform Standby duties and shift when required.
Application of company best practices / engineering standards (ACP’s / Risk Assessments)
Maintain housekeeping, safety, health and environmental standards (SHEQ compliance)
