Are you passionate about data, problem-solving, and technology?
Shaper is excited to announce applications for the AppCentrix 12-month Data Science Learnership Programme are now open.  Designed to give aspiring young professionals the opportunity to kick-start their careers in data science.


Start Date: 01 October 2025
Duration: 12 months
Location: On-site in Auckland Park, Johannesburg, Gauteng.
Working Hours: Monday – Friday from 08h00 – 16h30

Who Should Apply?
We’re seeking persons living with a disability, who are motivated, eager to learn, and ready to commit full-time to this transformative programme.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be South African citizens
  • Currently reside in Gauteng
  • Be unemployed and available full-time from 01 October 2025
  • Person Living with a Disability (medical/Disability Letter will be required)

Minimum Entry Requirements:

  • Qualification: NQF Level 6 or higher (Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree)

Preferred Fields of Study:

  • Data Science / Statistics
  • Computer Science / Information Systems
  • Mathematics / Applied Mathematics
  • Engineering / Physics
  • Business Analytics / Economics
  • Any other quantitative or technical field

Latest Articles:

Skills & Aptitude:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Numerical literacy and basic statistical understanding
  • Computer literacy (Excel, email, web navigation)
  • Demonstrated interest in data, technology, or programming

Personal Attributes:

  • Self-motivated and eager to learn
  • Resilient, coachable, and open to feedback
  • Professional conduct and communication
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Desirable (Not Required but Advantageous):

  • Exposure to coding (Python, SQL, or Excel)
  • Participation in hackathons, bootcamps, or data-related projects
  • Portfolio, GitHub repository, or proof of self-taught learning
