Requirements :
- Grade 12 with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience and/or a 3-year recognized tertiary qualification with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in cleaning and laundry services. Must have a minimum of at least 3 years’ supervisory experience in the related field. Must have infection control and waste management knowledge. Must possess excellent communication skills in speaking, writing, and even in listening. Must have good interpersonal attributes. Must have the ability and willingness to work as part of a team. Excellent decision-making ability is a must-have. Knowledge and understanding of Legislative frameworks in the Public Service is of most importance. Must be computer literate (proof required). Must be willing to rotate and assist within the directorate. A valid driver’s license will be an added advantage. Knowledge of Ideal Hospital Framework, and NCS.
Duties :
- Oversee cleaning and laundry operations within the hospital. Prepare weekly cleaning schedules and reports. Monitoring cleaning, linen stock levels and key controls. Enforce compliance to OHS and Infection Control procedures by all staff under your supervision. Improve communication and address challenges by having regular meetings with team members to determine any problem areas and seek suggestion from the team. Report and provide feedback monthly or as and when required by management. Prepare monthly cleaning and linen projects for targeted areas. Keep updated inventory on equipment and chemicals. Follow the condemning procedure when equipment is beyond repair. Manage and develop human capital within the directorate. Monitoring of staff attendance. Compiling leave plan, record keeping, and update leave register. Ensure lease agreement are done timeously. Conduct walkabouts to different areas within the organization such as offices, bathrooms, wards boardroom, and any other areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance to National Core Standards. implement strategies on cost savings. Participate in different committees within the hospital such as risk committee, skills development committee, quality assurance committee, etc. Compliance to PMDS policy. Perform any other reasonable and lawful duties delegated by the supervisor and manager.
