LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME: STUDENT TEACHERS

Full-time contract post starting January 2023.
United Herzlia Schools is an independent Jewish Day School. We are seeking competent, dedicated and energetic individuals who wish to gain work experience whilst studying part-time. The student teacher will receive a monthly stipend, plus a contribution towards academic fees and books.
The successful candidate will:
Be studying in 2023 towards a formal teaching qualification (B Ed/PGCE) in any phase of education, through distance learning, or, having completed a formal teaching qualification, be seeking experience in a classroom environment.
Be flexible to assist in any aspect of teaching, and be willing to do two extra murals per week, including coaching sport.
Be open to being mentored and coached in order to develop pedagogy skills and competencies.
Have a high level of competency in ICT and be willing to learn about Google Apps for Education, Smartboards, Android and Apple devices.
Learn how to integrate technology into the curriculum by using various electronic media in the classroom.
Be able to work in an inclusive environment.
Live in Cape Town and preferably have own transport.
