| Job Purpose | The Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to administer applications in terms of traffic legislation relating to events on provincially proclaimed roads, exemptions from legal requirements and abnormal load permits / vehicle registration. This post is based in Cape Town, CBD. |
| Minimum Requirements | Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification). |
| Recommendation | Appropriate administrative experience; Proven computer literacy. |
| Key Performance Areas | Administer applications for events on provincially proclaimed roads: Sporting events and filming events; Administer applications for exemptions from legal requirements (e.g. seatbelt wearing); Administer applications for abnormal load permits / vehicle registrations. |
| Competencies | Knowledge of the following: National Road Traffic Act, 1996 (Act 93 of 1996) and the National Road Traffic Regulations, 2000, National Traffic Information System (NaTIS), Proven computer literacy in MS Office packages; Good written and verbal communication skills. |
| Remuneration | R 176 310 per annum (Salary level 5)Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements. |
