| Senior Health & Safety Officer – HRES10122 – (2000006E)Description Position: Senior Health and Safety Officer Department: Human Resource Division: Organisational Management & Employee Wellbeing Salary: R410 592 – R563 280 per annum (plus benefits) Core Responsibilities: Ensure that all statutory appointments are made within Departments in order to assist the City Manager to comply with the relevant legislation Investigate all occupational injuries and diseases in terms of the OH&S Act and the COID Act in order to ensure that accidents, fatalities and diseases are recorded and reported to both the Department of Labour and the Compensation Commissioner Notify and advise Departmental management on any changes, modifications, additions and repeals pertaining to the OH&S Act and COID Act in order to ensure up to date compliance with relevant legislation Facilitate, present and coordinate statutory training to all employees and OH&S representatives in order to ensure that everybody is informed and knows his / her responsibility in terms of the Act Liaise with Department of Labour, Compensation Commissioner and other institutions and organisations in order to comply with legislation in the interest of management and employees Responsible for the occupational health and safety operational budget at customer care centre level in order to advise management on the operational expenditure Investigate vehicle related incidents in conjunction with other Departments to determine corrective actions to prevent recurrence Liaise with the Compensation Commissioner on issues pertaining to changes, modifications, additions or repeals in the Act in order to advise the Departments Manage contractors within the city on compliance to Construction Regulations and other relevant legislation Qualifications Minimum Requirements: SAMTRAC and National Diploma in Safety Management or relevant equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification Instructional Techniques in Safety Code B driver’s license 3 years’ experience in a similar environment The successful candidates will be expected to register with the certified registration body in construction Enquiries: Tel: 0860 54 3000; E-mail: call.centre@ekurhuleni.gov.za Candidates may be requested to submit proof of the NQF level applicable to the qualifications they have obtained.
