Summary

Busamed Gateway Private Hospital is recruiting a Technical Assistant who will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities and Duties: 

• Basic hand skills for the purpose of assisting with general maintenance tasks
• Assistance with building and painting
• Routine maintenance checks
• Supervised maintenance of air-conditioning systems, with its associated filter cleaning, and assistance with cleaning of ducts and equipment, form part of the day-to-day routine of this position
• Assisting with minor structural changes in and around the facility
• Moving of doctor’s rooms and associated equipment and furniture
• Assisting in putting up and preparing of walls, dry walls and other partitioning
• Supervised maintenance, treating and painting of carports, parking areas, peripheral fencing, and roofing structures in general
• Supervised general building, plant and machinery maintenance
• Supervised general cleaning and maintenance of Hospital property

Requirements

• Qualification in or equivalent to Technical Assistant level
• Ability to provide fast, efficient, quality workmanship always
• Availability for standby, call out and overtime when necessary
• Must have driver’s license 
• Ability to carry out basic electrical fault finding

Work Experience

• Relevant working experience in building maintenance, plumbing, and carpentry
• Relevant hospital experience will be a recommendation

Knowledge

• Basic skills with general tools
• Good hand skills
• Good skills with power tools
• Familiar with safe workshop practice
• Customer oriented with good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change with good planning and organisational skills
• Ability to problem solve and work within stringent timelines
• Team working and approachable
