The Learning and Development Graduate will assist the organisation with the planning, implementation and reporting of human resource development (learning, training & development) and meeting Skills Development and Employment Equity requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric certificate.

Duties and Responsibilities

Learning & Development:

Assist to support the overall organisational Learning & Development process of management and decision-making to ensure the organisation achieves its short, medium and long-term plans:

  • Follow through on divisional skills requirements recording & implementation.
  • Respond and attend to L & D queries and escalate where necessary.
  • Assist with compilation of procurement documents.
  • Manage relevant L& D risks (e.g. study assistance beneficiaries progress & documents) (ad hoc).
  • Organise where relevant group training.
  • Monitor CPD of Key Individuals & Representatives.

Skills Development Facilitation:

Proactively assist with input & monitoring for maximum skills levy refund:

  • Capture data for WSP/ATR January/ February.
  • Monitor Inseta open window periods for grant applications.
  • Assist to complete discretionary applications (Internships, Learnerships, Skills Programmes & Bursaries for workers) and secure approval.
  • Facilitate invoicing of approved discretionary programme by Finance department.
  • Complete all other mandatory & discretionary grants related documents with Inseta.

Skills Development & Employment Equity Committee:

Assist in facilitating appointment of the committee members representative of all employee groups as per legislation.

  1. Brief on role & responsibilities.
  2. Nomination process completion.
  3. Send out Appointment letters.
  • Assist in arranging training for the Committee members (2 year cycle).
  • Input into SD & EE procedures.
  • Input into SD & EE committee reports.
  • Upload Committee meeting reports for access by employees.

Reports:

Input into L & D reports (monthly, quarterly, annually & ad-hoc).

Capture data on:

  • Budget vs Spend
  • Formal, informal & conferences
  • Strategic skills priorities
  • Occupational groups
  •  Race
  • Gender
  • Equity
  • Divisions
  • Comparative spend over years
  • PIR
  • FSC Skills Development Scorecard
  • Skills levy refund
  • Study assistance beneficiaries
  • Skills & Development Committee reports

Maintain data on the following systems:

  • BBBEE tool i.t.o EE & SD
  • L & D SharePoint site & Learning Hub

Platforms/ LMS LinkedIn Learning Ms Dynamics 365:

  • Perform platforms administration.
  • Add and edit users (liaise with Payroll Administrator & HR Business Partners regarding employee movements).
  • Organise employees into groups (e.g. units, departments, divisions etc).
  • Assign permissions to managers/ supervisors.
  • Recommend content including curated learning paths and collections.
  • Draw and use the reporting features for a visual “at a glance” or high-level view of usage.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Support the L & D function to build strategic relationships with key internal & external stakeholders.
  • Engage and resolve stakeholder needs within stipulated time frames
  • Participate in relevant Inseta & other institutions events.
  • Liaise with other industry players e.g. IISA, IIG, SAIA, SETAs, Dept of Employment & Labour, Host/ secondary employers, National Treasury, Service Providers & other Learning Institutions

Job Advert Summary

  • Carries out handyman, general work and including driver duties during normal office hours.
  • Perform electrical repairs for office machinery and appliances, including lights bulbs and dishwash machine, etc.
  • Ensure that you perform routine landscaping and gardening by watering plants and cutting grass.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Valid code 10/C1 driver’s license.

Minimum Experience:

  • 1 – 3 Years relevant experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintenance of electrical equipment & appliances:

  • Perform electrical repairs for office machinery and appliances, including lights bulbs and dishwash machine, etc.
  • Ensure mechanical equipment is in working order and fixed as necessary.
  • Ensure complete general building cleaning and maintenance.

Landscaping & gardening:

  • Ensure that you perform routine landscaping and gardening by watering plants and cutting grass.
  • Ensure that indoor plants are watered routinely and properly cultivated as per plant instructions.

Upkeep of furniture painting & office artwork:

  • Ensure that all office furniture, accessories, artwork and are properly placed appropriately in the offices.
  • Assist with the relocation of office furniture as when required.

Maintenance of Basement and Parking:

  • Sweep and remove litter, wash area with suitable detergent, clean toilet, hand basin and shower. 

Management of office equipment & stock:

  • Ensure that adequate stock suppliers to maintain equipment is readily available and replenished in time if they run out.

Inspection of the office building and machinery:

  • Ensure inspection all office spaces daily to identify problems with litter, mechanical failures, or breakdowns.
  • Respond to employees’ requests for maintenance services, including replacing air conditioners, installing new locks.
  • Repair plumbing, electrical and safety systems in the offices as and when required.
  • Do minor painting when required.
  • Ensure the parking lot and sidewalks are clearly marked, demarcated and are free from litter and debris.
  • Maintain sprinkler system and trash receptacles on the premises.
  • Washing windows and blinds cleaning.

Wash, Clean and upkeep of company vehicles and management vehicles:

  • Washing, cleaning of company vehicles as well as management vehicles as and when required. 

General office assistance:

  • Assist kitchen staff move groceries/water on request.
  • Assist with physical asset tagging and audits.
  • Do shredding.
  • Fill cupboards at printers with paper.
  • Move boxes.
  • Movement of furniture.
  • Re-pack storerooms (keeping them clean and tidy).
  • Replacing empty and refilling of water bottles.
  • And any other reasonable task requested.

Driver services:

  • Act a messenger through delivering of company mails, collect goods and make delivery to various destination as and when required.

Ad hoc Duties:

  • Perform any reasonable task as and when instructed to do so by your line manager
