Role summary
The Billings Clerk is responsible for providing an accurate collation of patient documents to enable reconciliation and final billing.
Key work output and accountabilities
Administration
• Capturing of all billing to hospital patient for each patient.
• Reconciliation of file data.
• Ensure that relevant items are charged according to the charge sheet and box codes are allocated to
individual items.
• Data capturing of all theatre charge sheets.
• Assist during bi-annual and annual stock-takes.
• Assist with stock transfers.
• Assist with cycle counts.
• Printing of interim patient statements.
• Capturing of all billing to hospital patients.
• Accurate and timeous billing of private and medical aid accounts.
• Final billing of accounts
• Contribute to keeping debtors days as low as possible.
• Any other duties assigned by the Finance and Admin Manager from time to time.
General
• Ensure all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.
• Perform various tasks as assigned to you by management.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality
Skills profile
Education
• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification
Work experience
• 1-2 years’ experience in an administrative role
• Previous experience in a Billing or Pharmacy environment advantageous
Knowledge
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Organised and able to multi-task
• Good attention to detail
• Meeting of submission deadlines
• Experience on SAP advantageous
