The South African Board for Sheriffs is seeking a Communications Officer in Gauteng who can offer innovative and cost-effective communication services.

Permanent Position – Based in Gauteng
Remuneration: An all-inclusive package of R 357 738,85 per annum
(Total cost of employment)


The South African Board for Sheriffs (SABFS) is responsible for the maintenance of the esteem of, the
enhancement of the status of, and the improvement of the standard of training of and functions performed by sheriffs, in a manner that enhances access to justice.


The Board seeks to appoint a progressive, service-oriented and results-driven individual to effectively provide innovative, cost-effective and value-added Communications services to the SABFS.


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Ensures SABFS Strategic Objectives alignment to PR strategy;

Scope, plan, create and maintain the development project plans and schedules for communication
initiatives;

Implement operational communication activities;

Performs tasks associated with the administrative and reporting requirements of the function.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must possess significant communication and organisational skills

Demonstrate the ability to use different media for different purposes

Working knowledge of design and printing processes, quality and methods

Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

Professional writing skills including editing and drafting publications

Develop annual communication plans as well as budget proposals

Maintain the Organisations brand management

Write news releases, speeches and articles

Manage digital development including website and other social media and technological enhancements
and platforms

Good understanding of budgeting and expenditure control

Works independently and initiates strategic initiatives


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Appropriate Tertiary Qualification (B Degree or equivalent) in Marketing, Media, Public Relations or
Communications

5 Years relevant work experience
