INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE AGRICULTURAL PARTNERSHIP FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT MATRIC INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME (APFYD)
The Western Cape Department of Agriculture offers opportunities to thirty (30) unemployed youth in rural areas, specifically from: Grabouw (Theewaterskloof); Hermanus (Overstrand); Chatsworth (Swartland); Graafwater (Cederberg); Uniondale (George); The Crags (Bitou); Murraysburg (Beaufort West); Klaarstroom (Prince Albert); Touws River (Breede Valley) and Tankwa Karoo (Witzenberg) to gain experience and exposure in agriculture.
Preference will be given to children of agriworkers.

| Unemployed South Africans who have written and passed the National Senior Certificate (NSC) in the Western Cape, with mathematics and science, wanting to gain experience in agriculture. Youth (18-24) Applicants must be entering an internship/youth development programme in government for the first time. | Successful applicants will be appointed on a fixed-term contract for a period of 12 months (one year). Candidates will be placed on farms and with agricultural entities in the abovementioned regions. The application form (new z83) obtainable from any government department, should be accompanied by a copy of the relevant qualification, a certified copy of the green South African bar-coded ID, or a copy of the new South African ID cards and academic results, certified by the academic institution.

- All applicants must be South African citizens. Preference will be given to applicants residing in the specified areas.
- The Department reserves the right to determine the total number of appointed interns based on the total budget available.
