2X VEHICLE INSPECTOR AND TESTING OFFICER (LICENSING)

Salary: R439 313.64 per annum (Job level 6)
The purpose of the job of a Vehicle Inspector and Testing Officer is to assist public with testing on driver’s license, learner’s license and conversion of driver’s licenses and PRDP’s.
Key performance areas:
The Vehicle Inspector and Testing Officer must ensure that the daily work is done to satisfaction and to achieve the necessary objectives of Council in a safe working environment.
He/she will be responsible for:
Testing candidates for driver’s license in order to determine the candidate’s eligibility for driver’s license
Authorises conversion or renewal of driver’s and PRDP licensesto determine candidate’s eligibility for driver’s licence
Performs road-worthiness tests of vehicles to determine if vehicles are roadworthy and allowed on road
Responsible for the checking of all equipment to determine any defaults and the checking of inventory to determine if there are any materials needed
Handles Public queries and enquiries in terms of licence and vehicle testing to respond to any questions arising
Perform any other related duties as instructed by Supervisor.
As a minimum requirement at least a Grade 12; Examiner of Driver’s and learner’s License Diploma; 4 years testing experience. The applicant must possess good communication skills. A Code EC drivers’ license. ____________________________________________________________________
