This senior management role will lead the trainee accountant scheme and related initiatives together with other learnerships in the organisation. This role assists in fulfilling the AGSA People Strategy by ensuring that we evolve and implement a learnership vision for the organisation that will enhance and improve the AGSA’s talent pipeline and contribute to the transformation of the profession and public sector.Therefore, relevant experience in, and appreciation for the accounting profession, the professional bodies and auditing sector is regarded as important. Roles & Responsibilities | |
STRATEGIC FUNCTIONDevelop learnership strategies that support the people strategy and are aligned to the organisational strategy. These functions include graduate recruitment, bursary management, onboardinf of graduates, implementations to ensure high level of accreditation with professional bodies, talent development and retention.Lead and contribute to the development of the business unit performance scorecard and align centre initiatives to business unit and organisational objectives.Drive the growth of the AGSA CA (SA) pipeline and other identified learnerships in line with the AGSA transformational strategy. PRODUCT MANAGEMENTLearnership strategy:Develop and implement the learnership plan that supports the People Strategy.Research and implement innovative and best practice on the learnership management value chain.Develop, implement and monitor trainee auditor retention strategies.Drive initiatives that contribute to the quality of the talent pipeline.Compliance with Professional Bodies:Monitor the organisations compliance with the requirements of the professional bodies.Collaborate and contribute to the graduate/trainee auditor development training plan.Monitor the performance of the business units in accordance with the professional body requirements.Graduate Recruitment and Bursary Management: Provide strategic direction relating to the coordination and management of graduate development.Drive the recruitment of trainee auditors including marketing and bursary programmes.Oversee and monitor the successful refinement and implementation of graduate attraction and bursary initiatives.Stakeholder ManagementLead the communication of the learnership strategy and objectives to both internal and external stakeholders to ensure understanding of these by all relevant stakeholders.Scan the environment to ensure a clear understanding of stakeholder needs.Build strong, collaborative relationships with all the feeder tertiary institutions and recognised professional bodies and study support service providers.Build and maintain positive and value-adding relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Proactively build the AGSA brand to all external stakeholders.Integrate with other senior learning partners within the POE to ensure that leanership programs are functioning optimally.Build a network and database of high calibre vendors/ service providers.Manage service level agreements (SLAs).Foster a conducive networking environment within the ‘Business Partnering’ community in the people portfolio to ensure integrated and seamless delivery of learnership management initiatives.People ManagementCascade organisational strategy alignment messages and commitments through effective and impact-driven strategic conversations with the team on an on-going basis.Drive the implementation of business unit people management plan.Provide leadership and direction for the centre.Determine the mix and level of capability required to enable the centre to support BU and organisational objectives.Manage team performance and skills transfer for staff development and business continuity.Facilitate initiatives that foster and drive team effectiveness and employee engagement.Financial management and operational management Contribute to the compilation of business unit budget and manage own centre budget.Drive operational efficiency and effectiveness through business relevant talent policies, processes and programmes that are compliant with applicable legal requirements.Implement effective human capital governance and risk management processes and systems.Manage supply chain processes within own functional area. Skills, Experience & Education | |
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES Research and designAbility to identify and interpret new information and design learning initiatives which translate into improved individual and organisational performance.Evaluation of LearningAbility to identify and measure the impact of an intervention on individual or organisational effectiveness.Project ManagementProject definition, planning process, managing and controlling of project.Business administrationKnowledge of appropriate business practices and procedures. Ability to allocate resources, plan procurement and oversee budgets and contracts to ensure fiscal stability of the centre. Formal EducationThis position requires a CA (SA) qualification. A relevant Master’s Degree will be an advantage.Registered assessor with SAICA will be required – if not currently registered should be able to register with immediate effect.ExperienceThe incumbent is required to have a minimum of 5 years’ in learnership activities or involvement in the training activities, of which 3 years should be in a management role.Involvement and directly responsible for managing learnership activities will be an advantage.Involvement with TA assessments and management. | |
