The Khumani Mine is situated approximately 29 km from Kathu next to the N14 in the Southern Kalahari. FITTER (x1) Qualifications

Ÿ Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (Essential)

Ÿ Complete Technical Engineering N2 certificate (Essential)

RIGGER (x1) Qualifications

Ÿ Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (Essential)

Ÿ Complete Technical Engineering N2 certificate (Essential)

PLATER / WELDER (x2) Qualifications

Ÿ Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (Essential)

Ÿ Complete Technical Engineering N2 certificate (Essential)

Experience

Ÿ Semi-skilled experience in relevant field (added advantage)

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

Ÿ Communication skills – good written and verbal

Ÿ Interpersonal skills

Ÿ Computer literacy (basic user of MS Word)

Ÿ Technical skills

Other Requirements

Ÿ Preference will be given to applicants from Postmasburg, Postdene, Newtown, Groenwater, Olifantshoek, Kathu, Dibeng and Kuruman areas

Ÿ Avalid code B/EB driver’s licence (recommended)

Ÿ Preparation and / study for assessments after hours to be done

Ÿ As part of the recruitment and enrolment process, candidates may be required to complete certain assessments such as psychometric assessments, knowledge based assessments etc.

Ÿ Medically fit for duty

CONDITIONS:

Ÿ The learner will be appointed on the basis of the duration of the training agreement. Should a vacancy exist within the Company at the time of the Learner’s successful completion of his / her training program in which the Learner has trained, the Learner will be obliged to take up fulltime employment with Assmang (Pty) Limited. Should it not be required that the Learner take up fulltime employment with Assmang (Pty) Limited, the Learner will be free to apply for fulltime employment in the open market.

Ÿ On completion of theoretical and practical training, the learners may be appointed where formal vacancies arise in compliance with the company’s recruitment procedures

Ÿ It must be clearly noted that Assmang (Pty) Limited will be under no obligation whatsoever to employ the Learner on a fulltime basis on completion of his / her training with the Company

Ÿ The successful incumbent will be appointed subject to being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996 and meeting the requirements of the Company’s Code of Practice – Minimum standards of fitness to perform work at a Mine. He/she will also undergo a psychometric assessment

Ÿ Successful candidates will also be responsible for their own accommodation and transportation to and from their place of work
