Purpose of the position The Data Capturer will assist Department of Health (DOH) facilities with data capturing and data management activities; support the capturing, verification and reporting of TIER.Net/ETR/DHIS data at supported health facilities, with a specific focus on TB data; ensure that all TB data is up to date and that any defaulters are identified and reported to THC and facility staff responsible for tracking and tracing of patients. As per our funding agreement, no employees who are currently working for DOH will be considered.
Minimum Requirements• Matric / Grade 12 • A tertiary qualification would be advantageous • 2 years’ experience working with DOH data and/or M&E systems (capturing data from patient-record to DHIS level) • 2 years’ experience with TIER.Net software, capturing and reporting • Knowledge of TB and HIV • Experience in data collection and capturing • Computer literate and the use of Microsoft office package (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook) • Valid driver’s license • Fluency in English and isiZulu languages • Clear criminal record
Duties and Responsibilities• Support facilities to ensure all relevant data is accurately captured into health information systems e.g. DHIS, ETR, Sinjani, PERMIS, TIER.Net • Ensure facility generates daily, weekly and monthly TIER.Net line list reports • Collect and verify data against facility weekly tally books to ensure data quality • Interact with colleagues and project management team to ensure fulfilment of project objectives • Interact with DOH and THC staff to capture relevant subject-related information • Ensure that weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports are submitted on time • Filing and administrative duties as required
