Job PurposeThe Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an exciting employment opportunity for a dynamic individual to render effective and efficient clerical support service to the Region/District office.The successful incumbent must be driven and self-motivated, ability to work under pressure and reliable. This post is based in Worcester.
Minimum RequirementsGrade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification); A valid code B driving licence.
RecommendationRelevant office administration experience.
Key Performance AreasHandling and controlling petty cash; Administer financial payments; Administering all travel and subsistence and advances; Record holding and administering official and private telephone and cell phone calls; Administering BAS; Assist with analysis of monthly expenditure.
CompetenciesA good understanding of the following: Application of relevant legislation; Systems (ARIBA), Logistical Information System (LOGIS) and Basic Accounting System (BAS); Communication (written and verbal) skills; Proven computer literacy skills in MS Office; Planning and organisation skills; Problem solving skills; Negotiation; Basic numeracy skills; Team work and ability to work independently.
RemunerationR 173 703 per annum (Salary Level 5) Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
