Join us as a Clerk of Works at our Zibulo Colliery on a 6 month contract, where you will monitor the activities performed on the implementation of projects and ensure that these are completed safely and successfully.

As part of this exciting opportunity, you will take on the responsibility of ensuring that there is compliance by contractors to the implementation of programmes and activities performed in accordance to the required standards and time frames.

You will ensure that legal requirements, codes of practice and group standards are adhered to, while performing inspections on the equipment provided by the contractors regularly and ensure regular audits on the construction projects ensuring compliance and you will be required to act on non-compliance.

As a Clerk of Works, you will be required to provide input into the development of implementation programmes while effectively managing the project costs and making sure that material and equipment are delivered timeously.

The effective implementation of cost control will mean you perform preliminary work on CAS and obtain approval for project costing while you monitor and report on financial expenditure.

This role is in the Engineering Department and is at a Band 6 level reporting to the Construction Manager.Qualifications:

  • Civil or Instrumentation Engineering
  • Project Management certificate

Additional information:

  • Safety Course
  • Safety Leadership programme
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Foreman in the construction or mining industry
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical or civil engineering processes
  • Computer Literacy
