About the Position

SARAO has an opportunity for an Intern: Social Media Coordinator to join our team in Rosebank, Gauteng, on a 3-month project contract basis. This position forms part of the Enlighten Project within SARAO, whose objective is to develop an interactive and time convenient knowledge transfer platform, which will connect learners with skilled professionals to improve maths and science competency. This role will focus on the development and management of social media and influencer marketing strategy. Developing and curating engaging content for social media platforms through written, video and photographic content.

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • National Diploma: Media & Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media, Public Relations or an equivalent qualification

Minimum Experience:

  • 1-year relevant experience (preferably in the field of social media and communications)
  • Experience in MS Office as well as Google Docs, Sheets and Analytics
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop) or equivalent digital media editing tools beneficial
  • Experience with video and photo editing tools or digital media formats
  • Experience in demonstrated creativity and document immersion in social media
  • Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the development, implementation and managing of the Enlightened social media strategy
  • Coordinating and interacting with users daily and as required
  • Report writing and analytics of Enlightened social media engagement
  • All other administrative related duties
