MARKETING AND PROMOTIONS OFFICER REF: MPO /6/2020 (PERMANENT)The incumbent will report to: Stakeholder Manager

To conduct market intelligence and ensure that research outcomes are packaged and distributed to the stakeholders in an accessible manner. 

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Marketing Diploma or Online (Digital) Marketing Diploma 

• A Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Marketing planning and implementation in the South African Mining Industry or Similar (SAMI)                        • Sound Understanding of the Macro-Environmental Factors of the SAMI.• Experience in Packaging and Dissemination of Research Findings. 

• Proven record of Previous Marketing and Promotion Campaigns. 

• A sound understanding of social media and web-based marketing/promotions channels.

• Sound understanding of the e-marketing strategies.

• Results-Driven person with excellent communication skills.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Intermediate Levels of computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint                                            

Key performance areas: 

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to the following: 

• Develop a network of potential technology partners and funders for research outcomes.

• Review research projects and outcomes and identify marketing, promotion and publication opportunities.

• Develop a research dissemination plan and approach that facilitates information dissemination in a means that is appropriate to key stakeholders.

• Prepare and package research findings according to targeted stakeholders to facilitate dissemination.

• Implement research dissemination plan by:-facilitating drafting and publication of online content (e.g. blogs, vlogs, videos etc.) and articles-facilitating drafting, production and dissemination of documentation and presentations with research outcomes-planning and implementing workshops, seminars and other events and contact sessions to share research findings.

• Review research projects and outcomes and identify marketing, promotion and publication opportunities.

• Develop a research dissemination plan and approach that facilitates information dissemination in a means that is appropriate to key stakeholders.

• Monitor and track the effectiveness of the research dissemination plan and adjust in line with feedback

• Report on research dissemination.

• Review, plan and cost development projects with researchers / outsourced service providers.

• Monitor progress and manage marketing/promotion/publication development.

• Liaise with stakeholders to identify research interests and areas to inform the dissemination plan.

• Receive and analyse feedback from stakeholders on effectiveness and relevance of research disseminated and dissemination methods used.

• Develop a calendar of planning research dissemination and promotion events

• Develop a plan and budget for each research dissemination and promotion event.

• Procure services providers, venues, equipment and materials for each event.

• Manage the preparation and implementation of each event.

• Manage the spend of each event in line with the plan and budget.

• Evaluate each event and integrate learnings into the event plan and calendar.
