WEST COAST TVET COLLEGE (ON BEHALF OF DHET) INVITES ALL THE QUALIFIED CANDIDATES TO APPLY FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS

POST: STOREMAN
CENTRE: Vredendal Campus Ref No: WCTVETC 2/20
SALARY: R 122 595 (SL 3) plus 37% in lieu of benefits per month
CONTRACT: 1 Year fixed term contract

Requirements: Minimum Standard 8. (Grade 10); stores/ stock control experience; knowledge/ experience of engineering tools, equipment and machinery (Recommendation); Bilingual; (English plus Afrikaans or isiXhosa.) Computer Literate; (MS Office: Excel and Word) Basic Numeracy and Literacy; valid Driver’s Licence.
Duties: Organise tool store; Monitor training equipment in the workshop; Issue consumables to learners; Control flammable stock in workshop; Set-out workstations with tools and equipment; Monitor that learners do not misuse tools and equipment; advise lecturers to requisition – consumables; ensure that workstations are tidy; Mop/sweep working areas as required; Lubricate/maintain machines and equipment; Keep tool register up to date.

POST: ECD FACILITATOR
CENTRE: Atlantis Campus Ref No: WCTVETC 3/20
SALARY: R 211 098 (PL 1) per annum
CONTRACT: 1 Year fixed term contract

Requirements: Grade R or foundation phase Teacher; 3 years qualification relevant to the field of education; Relevant early childhood development assessor and moderator certificate is would be advantageous; Minimum 3 years teaching / lecturing experience; Experience in ECD field (0 – 8 years) is compulsory; Assessor and moderation; Sound knowledge of ECD Centres as regular site visits will be part of the duties; Knowledge of adult education, field of ECD; Current Educational Policy, SAQA and NQF; Facilitation; assessment.
Duties: Facilitation; Assessment and monitoring learner progress; Monthly feedback on implementation.

CENTRE: Central Office (Malmesbury) (SL 5) Ref No: WCTVETC 6/20
SALARY: R 173 703 (SL 5) plus 37% in lieu of benefits per annum
CONTRACT: 1 Year fixed term contract

Requirements: Grade 12 / NCV level 4 / N6; qualification in assets will be an added advantage; experience in asset Management; Computer and typing skills; Telephone etiquette; Verbal and written communication skills; Interpersonal skills; Strong administrative skills; Security and asset management; Valid driver’s license; Knowledge of OHSA and fire codes; Strong pro-active management skills, Conflict management skills; Ability to communicate at all levels including with students; Administration and report writing skills; Computer literacy.
Duties: Coordinate and manage all college physical resources (i.e. fleet, Equipment, buildings, etc.); as well as proactively manage the supervision of residence supervisors and general assistants; Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures; Ensure discipline compliance of all residence students and residence staff; Identify and resolve facility deficiencies; Perform regular scheduled building inspections; Manage maintenance plans; Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety standards.

Requirements: Degree or Diploma in Education with at least three years of relevant experience at TVET College or at least six years coordination experience in basic education; The incumbent must have knowledge about the needs of tutors and students; Demonstrate initiative and good judgement; be able to provide effective academic support services to tutors and students; excellent interpersonal and computer skills; Must have strong oral and written communications skills.
Duties: To ensure that all Academic Support interventions are effective and efficient based on the needs of students and incorporating consideration of the learning environment; Ensuring that all information is stored securely and is accurate, reflecting the student’s support needs and requirements for quality assurance audits.

POST: INSTRUCTOR: ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING (APPRENTICESHIP)

Requirements: National trade test certificate in electrical field; valid driver’s licence; Assessor or Moderator with the relevant SETA and Health and Safety course will be advantageous; Computer literacy; Minimum 3-5 years field experience; Experience as a Facilitator for CMBT / QCTO modules; Apprenticeship training and exposure in a private or public training institution; Field experience in Low and High voltage.
Duties: Provide quality training in the artisanal field of electrical; Ensure that staff, students, SETA’s and all stakeholders are satisfied and assisted in a timeous and professional manner; Assist with developing training material and compile Port Folio of Evidence and Portfolio of Assessment; Ensure workshop is in excellent standard and conducive for training purposes; Assist with equipment maintenance; Willing and able to conduct off-site monitoring visits; Able to build partnerships with stakeholders to secure work places for students in the programme.
